If you are just looking to try out cleaning using steam. The Designer Habitat Steam Mop is a possibility as a starter steam mop.
It works by converting water into steam. Using steam gives a better cleaning power than just using a mop and bucket.
The microfiber pad absorbs the dirt and grease released by the steam.
As you are only using steam. Ther is no need to use detergents and so saving money and the environment.
Designer Habitat Steam Mop Description and Features
The Designer Habitat Steam Mop is easy to assemble just need to screw on the handle.
You just need to fill the water tank and wait for 20 seconds. The green light will then come on and you are ready to steam.
The Designer Habitat Steam Mop is light. It just glides across the floor when it is steaming.
To disinfect an area such as kitchen counter hold the Steamer over the area for at least eight seconds.
Comes with three mop heads. The mop head is bigger than most mops. Which means it is good at covering large areas faster. But makes it a little more difficult when getting into nooks and crannies. The Swivel head on the mop does help with this.
The cloth heads easily fit onto the mop head with a drawstring which works better than elasticated cloths.
It is recommended that you buy the Coral Microfibres Replacement Mop Cleaning Pads. Then Use these instead of the cloths supplied with the mop as they do not absorb the dirt and water very well.

What I dislike about the Designer Habitat
The Designer Habitat Steam Mop is a little heavy but also looks a bit flimsy built.
It is difficult to manoeuvre.
The power lead is to short.
The microfibre mop heads that come with it are not great.
The steam isn’t that powerful.
Does tend to leave the floors a bit wet.
Other customers advised buying the coral pads rather than using the free ones that come with the machine.
The clothes are thin and not of a very good quality tend to get dirty easily and leave streaks.
The cloths are a bit fiddly to fit and they need changing often a they get wet through easily.
Several complaints from other customers that the steam mop had stopped working after as little as half a dozen times.
No attachment for smaller windows or surfaces.
Summary of Review
While not a bad steam mop I am unable to recommend it due to issues with reliability and poor quality clothes that come with it. There are mixed reviews on it. There are better steam mops on the market at this price. You can check out the Designer Habitat Steam Mop on Amazon.
