Abode Steam Mop Description and Features
The advantage of using a steam mop is that it is environmentally friendly. You are using only steam on the floor and not detergents or other harmful chemicals. The high temperatures generated by the steam will kill most germs and bacteria.
The steam will remove stubborn grease and grime from floors, leaving your floors your floors sanitised and sparkling.
The steam cleaner can be used on a variety of floor types including sealed wooden, sealed laminate, vinyl, tiles and carpet. It will also refresh carpet by using the provided carpet glider. Simply fit the glider onto the base of the mop head.
The Abode Steam Mop arrived promptly. The steam mop was well packaged. It was easy to assemble without the instructions.
The steam mop even so, comes with clear instructions on how to use and maintain. The steam mop is small enough to store under the stairs or in a cupboard.
The Adobe Steam Mop is a simple to use steam mop. You first attach the mop pad to the base. You then fill up the water tank. The water tank has a capacity of 450 ml. When the water tank is full will give you at least 20 minutes of cleaning time. R
efill the tank at anytime while you are cleaning by using the plastic cup provided. Always Hoover or sweep your floor before you use the steam mop to get rid of any debris.
Plug the steam mop into the mains and switch on. The steam mop will heat up and when it is ready to stream a light will come on. The water tank heats up quickly within 60 seconds and it is ready to clean.
To use the Abode Steam Mop you just move the mop back and forth across the floor. When the mop handle is in the upright position, the steam stops. The steam pads are simple to attach. The steam pads are easy to detach once you have finished cleaning.
Steam mop pads are easy to attach and take off. The pads have three Velcro strips. The pads are machine washable. After use, simply throw the steam pads into the washing machine to be cleaned, dried, and reused.
Steam releases into the pad when you release the open switch. It is best to open the switch about a quarter open. This way the floor does not saturated and dries quicker.
The frame is lightweight and so easy to push. The triangular mop head means you can save time and is easy to get into hard to reach corners. One tip is to damp the steam pad before you start using it. Therefore, it glides well on the floor and you do not have to wait until the pad gets damp from the steam. The Abode Steam Mop will remove stubborn stains by holding the mop over the stain for about ten seconds.
There is no need to press down on the steam pads. Marks on tile and wooden floors come out quickly. Those on carpets tended to take two or three cleans to remove them. I have used the mop on a large rug and this has come up quite well.
The Abode Steam Mop cleans floors perfectly. There is no more waiting for floors to dry as when using a mop and bucket. The more expensive steam mops can be better at cleaning but they tend to leave the floor much wetter.
Therefore, if you want an inexpensive mop which cleans floors fast, this mop is a good alternative. Therefore, there is less worry of people walking or slipping on your floors.
Abode have a customer service team available to help you with any queries. The customer centre is UK based and there is a helpline staffed with Customer care Advisors.
Abode Steam Mop Performance
What I like about the Abode Steam Mop
Simple to use and lightweight Has a nice long handle so there is no need to bend.
Gives a good clean which is smear free.
The Adobe Steam Mop has easy to change the steam pads.
Extra pads can be brought at a good price. The pads wash out well.
The steam mop has a swivel head.
The Adobe Steam Mop has a triangular shaped head which easily gets into awkward to clean corners.
What I dislike about the Abode Steam Mop
The Abode Steam Mop is not as robust as some more expensive models but it is OK if you use it carefully.
The mop is not much good for textured vinyl kitchen floor, as it does not remove in grained dirt.
You have to tip the mop upside down to get all the water out when you have finished steam cleaning.
The handle is a bit flimsy; you need to use brute force to fit it on properly. The power cable is a little short. The mop head is small.
This is not the steam mop to buy if you have large floor areas to clean. As cleaning these larger floor areas will take forever. The steam control can sometimes break.
However, the company is good at replacing broken models. Being cheap it is a bit flimsy. The cord wrap leaves the plug dangling.
The Abode Steam Mop does not stand on its own. Cord tends to drag on the floor. Filler bottle cap does not screw down tightly and drops of water come out when in use.
A bit hard to push at first until the steam pads become wet then it will glide across the floor.
Summary of Review
