Pros

The Black and Decker Steam Mop model FSMH1621 is much improved on the FSM1600 model
The handheld bit is really robust. Other 2-in-1 mops have been criticized for being flimsy. It is really easy to hold, and the attachments are so easy to fit
Do not have to use chemicals, save money and sterilize surfaces
With the Black and Decker Steam Mop the steam is ready in 15 seconds. Ready to go indicator light which changes colour when ready to steam
The mop has different setting for different surfaces this means that you do not get more water on the floors than is necessary
Steam burst to break down deeper grime and stubborn stains
The mop is very effective with plenty of steam and 3 settings

Cons

The water tank of the Black & Decker steam mop handheld steamer is only 300ml. This is smaller than most non-detachable handheld steamers. Which generally have a capacity of 500ml. So you do have you have to refill more often
The handheld steamer takes more like a minute to heat. As opposed to the upright unit which heats up in 15 seconds
The steam boost function only works for 10 seconds
It does leave the windows a little streaky so it is best to polish off with a dry cloth afterwards
Could do with generating a little more steam power
Lights showing floor mode and steam boost not always working well
The length of the handle is quite short especially if you are tall
Having the steam cleaner with a built in handheld steamer makes it a bit bulky
The handle for the upright section is a little flimsy
A bit heavy
Could do with a longer flex
The tank can be a little stiff to detach and reattach after you have refilled it

The Black and Decker Steam Mop is powerful enough to tackle cleaning the oven. it removed all the grease from the inside of the glass door. Also the floor of the oven and the two oven shelves. All I had to do then was to rinse off the loosened grease and use a pad to clean the remaining dirt. Took half the time it normally takes to clean the oven

Operating the Black and Decker Steam Mop

The Black and Decker Steam Mop is a 2 in 1 steam cleaner. You can take out the steam generating unit and use it as a handheld steam cleaner
Keep the box the steamer comes in as it has some easy to follow photographs of how to operate the steam cleaner
To assemble you need to join the various sections together

The handheld steam cleaner comes with:
- a squeegee for cleaning windows, floor tiles and shower glass screens
- flexible hose used getting to difficult places such as ovens
- three brushes which have been colour coded. This allows you to use different brushes. Say one for bathroom and another for the kitchen. Great for cleaning even the most stubborn grime
Variable nozzle allows you to use steam to sanitize a large area. Also a concentrated nozzle to clean tough grime
To use, you simply fill the container with water and plug in to the mains. Wait for the light to indicate that the water is hot and away you go
The Black and Decker Steam Mop comes supplied with two machine washable microfibre cleaning pads. These pads can be washed upto 100 times

There is an internal water filter which purifies the water. So the water can be poured directly into the water tank

Each tank fill of water gives you 13 to 20 minutes of cleaning time depending on the floor setting
